The safety of students in Putnam Public Schools is of utmost importance.  Putnam is committed to creating a culture of positivity and acceptance.  Connecticut has defined school climate as “the quality and character of school life with a particular focus on the quality of the relationships within the school community between and among adults.”  Putnam Public Schools fosters the acquisition of knowledge, skills and mindset across the five areas of social and emotional competence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
