On Monday, May 25 the band will be marching in the Memorial Day Parade in Putnam. All band members should meet at the corner of Center Street and Grove Street (near the monument) at 9:30AM for a 10:00AM parade. Parents should pick up their children at 12:15PM in Rotary Park, which is where the band will play a brief service following the parade. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE AND TIME OF THE PARADE.
Dress for the parade will be dark skirts or pants and a shirt that will be supplied by the school. I urge students to bring water bottles to the parade if possible, particularly if the weather is warm. If any parent would like to walk with the band for emergency support, I would appreciate the assistance. A free T-shirt is given to all volunteers. If the weather is wet WINY radio will announce cancellation or postponement of the parade. If the weather is only questionable the parade and ceremonies will be pushed back to an 11:30AM meeting for a 12:00PM parade. Any student who will not be available to play in the parade must bring a letter from their parent no later than May 22. An alternate assignment will be given to the student, which will be due to Mr. Martin on June 6.
