Welcome back to Putnam Elementary School!
Whether your child is coming to our school for the first time or is continuing in a new grade, the start of a new school year is an exciting time! Teachers are busy setting up their classrooms before school begins to insure an easy transition for students. Meanwhile children are eagerly imagining their new teacher, friends and classroom.
The first few days in the classroom are designed to build a sense of community and new friendships so the learning environment can flourish. Our goal at Putnam Elementary is to provide a strong educational experience for our students. We believe that all of us - the school and our students’ families - must work together to insure success for all our students. We believe it is everyone's responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible.
With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant at Putnam Elementary School. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the PTO or a special event participant, you are encouraged to be involved! Research on schools clearly demonstrates that parent participation in their child's school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success for their child.
We look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family. If you have questions or concerns at any time, please do not hesitate to contact us.
